A new quarter is upon West Valley High School Cottonwood CA ,and the time is just flying by.  In Culinary Arts class, the learning experience is new and fun in so many different ways.  We recently learned how to make certain egg dishes which as I said “is a very new and fun learning experience.” The dishes that I’ve learned and made was a quiche and an omelet. I’ll tell you myself that I’m not the most talented when cooking with eggs, but after we cooked those dishes my omelet is as better than any chef in the world and the quiche is even more divine.

The omelet was the most fun dish to prepare, because of how easy it was to make. All you had to do to make this delicious dish was to dice bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, and add melted gooey cheese. The learning experience to this dish was the cutting of the bell peppers, because I was always afraid of cutting my finger off.  In the time being, cutting those ingredients came natural to me as I cut through the ingredients at a blazing speed. I asked one of my partners what he thought about making the omelet and she said,”it pertained a lot of skills to eggs”. Once you cut into that layer of yellow yolk you see the layers of goodness inside, and once those flavors hit your mouth, it tastes wonderful.

The quiche was I think the hardest for us in a lot of ways, but it was still a good learning experience. As we got the hash browns, the bell peppers, and the rest of the other things to cook with. We were ready for a surprise and that surprise was that every quiche actually came out pretty delicious. As we still got a “B” I was pretty proud for what our group made and pretty thankful for being in that group.
